Student Life

Fine Arts

In the beginning, God created the
Heavens and the Earth.
Genesis 1:1

God is the creator of all things and our students have learned to glorify Christ through the creation of art. University Christian students have the opportunity to create such pieces and allow their creativity to shine in Art 2-D, 3-D Art, Advanced Placement Art and Design and/or performing in the Band and Worship Arts.

Foundational Art

Art begins in lower school as an instructional part of the curriculum. It is continued on as an elective option through the 12th grade. High School and Middle School Drawing and Painting provides an introduction to art through studying the use of various drawing and painting tools and techniques. In these classes, students will learn to use the Elements of Art within the Principles of Design to produce well-composed art. Students will have the opportunity to develop their creativity and their problem solving abilities. In addition, students will begin learning to identify and express their unique artistic voice. Students will be encouraged to glorify God with their work by displaying artistic-integrity and striving for excellence in all that they do.

Art 3-D

University Christian students have the opportunity to advance their artistic abilities by selecting from a variety of advanced art classes, including: Drawing and Painting II and III, 2D Art, Art Honors (a prerequisite to AP Studio Art), and AP Studio Art, in which students design and submit a portfolio of work in order to earn college credit.

Worship Arts

Worship Arts is a student led worship team which provides leadership of worship during our weekly chapel services. These students help facilitate the love, worship and praise with the student body of University Christian. Vocally, instrumentally as well as sound and visual engineering is part of this class, giving experience to UC students and allowing them to direct their attention to God and cultivating an atmosphere of true worship.

Band

Band is an opportunity for UC students to experience a competitive level of instrumental learning and performing. Through passionate leadership, the students in the band are performing at sporting events, special events on campus as well as in a competitive forum throughout the state of Florida. Band opportunities exist in the form of concert band, jazz band, marching band, pep band and the drum line.
