History & Philosophy
The ministry of University Christian School began in 1965 as a private Christian school with one kindergarten class. Today, UCS continues to thrive as a ministry of University Church ministering to students from infant age through twelfth grade.
Our first expansion in 1970 is what allowed for the inclusion of Junior Kindergarten through 12th grade. One year later, land was acquired and facilities were built to accommodate an elementary, middle and high school. The first graduating class of University Christian School walked the stage in the spring of 1973. Further expansion to the school has continued since that time, including the addition of band and choral rooms, science labs, media center, multiple sports venues, an athletic field house and gymnasium. Today, University Christian School serves grades Kindergarten through 12th grade on a newly renovated campus comprised of over 15 acres. UCS is centrally located in Jacksonville at I-95 and University Boulevard and can be easily spotted by our incredibly large American flag that proudly waves over our campus daily. UCS is fully accredited through ACSI/SACS/AdvancEd.
